Bring your own key
Fainta is a local Windows app. Your OpenAI API key, captures, and AI answers stay on your PC unless you choose to send data to a third-party API. We do not store your prompts or API keys on our servers.

1. Who we are
The data controller for fainta.com and related online services is the operator listed in the Impressum. Contact: contact@fainta.com.
2. Desktop app
The Fainta Windows app stores settings, gallery entries, and optional debug captures locally on your device. License validation sends your license key, a device identifier, and app version to our server to confirm Premium status. We do not receive your screen content or OpenAI API key through our servers.
3. Website & online services
We process personal data when you use the contact form (name, email, message), subscribe to product updates (email), purchase Premium (email and payment data handled by Stripe), or validate a license online. Hosting and backend services may use providers such as Google Firebase and email delivery providers. Data may be processed outside Switzerland.
4. Your rights
Under applicable Swiss data protection law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Contact contact@fainta.com.
5. Cookies
This marketing site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Payment and hosting providers may set technical cookies when you use checkout or related flows.
Purchases & Refunds
1. Fainta Premium
Fainta Premium is a one-time payment. Each purchase grants a personal, non-transferable license valid for one year from first activation in the desktop app. Licenses do not auto-renew.
2. Activation
Your license key activates on the first device where you validate it. Keys cannot be moved to another machine without a new purchase.
3. Withdrawal (consumers)
If you are a consumer, you may have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. For digital licenses delivered immediately, that right may not apply once you activate the key and expressly agree to immediate delivery at checkout. Contact contact@fainta.com if you believe you are entitled to cancel.
4. Refunds
Billing errors or keys that cannot be activated: contact us within 14 days at contact@fainta.com. Refunds are at our discretion for unused or non-activated keys. Activated licenses are generally non-refundable.
Terms of Service
1. Acceptable use
Fainta helps you interact with AI models using your own API keys. You are responsible for complying with your AI provider's terms and for any API costs you incur.
2. Software license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use the Fainta software. You may not reverse engineer or redistribute the app except as permitted by law.
3. Disclaimer
The software is provided as available. We are not liable for outages of third-party AI providers or loss of locally stored data on your device.
4. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence where applicable.
